KW v2 users need your help!

How is the ride? I had H&R street coil overs on my gti mkv and i loved them, looking for that same daily driver/spirited driving set up. Reason why I'm asking about the v2's is because i can get an amazing deal on them. If i set them right could i achieve a comfortable daily driver set up? Also is there anything else i need to install these? Prob drop them 1 finger gap all around. Any advice or opinions on the kwv2s would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I've had KW v2 coilovers and Vorshlag camber plates on my car for over a year. It's got barely a pinky finger of gap all around. It's definitely rougher than stock but I really like them. I had H&R lowering springs before so it is a gigantic improvement. Not only do they feel great on the street, but the setup is fantastic on the track too. I'm not sure if this speaks magnitudes to you, but my wife likes driving in my car still after slamming the car. Maybe she's more tolerant than others but I've heard of some gals not wanting anything to do with the ride quality of some slammed MINIs.

Buy them!

Also did the KWs make any noises? Clunking on turns and slow speed bumps? On my GTI my car use to clunk like crazy and i hated it!

That's an issue specific to VWs and their subframe bolts. Also, on VWs if the upper strut nut isn't 100% fully seated by hand (an impact gun almost never does it right) then you'll get those same clunks. I've fixed that so many times for my VW club members it's not even funny.

Do i NEED anything else for the install? I heard rear arms were a must? Do i need spacers up front for the stock 16s? I do plan on going 18x8 +45 or 17x7.5 +45 in the future. Thanks for the help!

The consensus is that you should get rear lower control arms because lowering the car is going to throw off the camber, and you need the adjustable arms to dial it back in, so you don't chew up tires. I went with the H-Sport on Way's recommendation. If you're not going LOW you may be able to get away without it, but I could be wrong.

Starting from full counterclockwise position...

Front - 7 clicks
Rear - 9 clicks

I haven't had time to play with adjustments on the track yet. I was still getting used to the new found camber and coilover setup last year. Hopefully I can experiment this year.

You can adjust the stock lower adjustable control arms somewhat, but buying a couple of H-sport replacements is the way to go if you want to dial everything in perfectly. You might need to use a small spacer up front so the inner side of your tire doesn't rub on the spring. You might want to give Chad at Detroit Tuned a call about what he would estimate based on his experience with different customer setups.

How are those settings for daily driving? Rough? Is it possible to retain that stock sport suspension feel?

You can only adjust rebound on the v2. If you dial them back to the full counterclockwise position you'll be at the softest damping level. I've never drove with them like this so I can't comment how they feel. I bought my coilovers for better performance on the street/track and don't care so much about cushy ride anymore.

Good starting point. Do less clicks for a softer ride.
