R57 with stock airbox and NM Eng strut brace rubs at the flange where the box and hose meet, just barely

I've got a K&N Typhoon 69-2004TTK arriving today for my '08 MCS, and wanted to overlay the JCW strut brace. Do you have enough clearance?

Consider an under body brace. I think it stiffens the car a lot more than the strut brace and it frees up room in the engine bay area.

I have done both an under body brace and the strut tower brace. I have tried the car with just one or the other on and then both. They both impact the handling differently. Personally, I am keeping both on the car due to the improvement. The bar that I ended up going with is the GT Spec Front Strut Brace. It cleared the air box assembly for the K&N Typhoon, but was hitting the K&N inlet pipe. Turned the bar over in the mounts and the issue is gone.

NM strut with stock intake on R58.. Rubs a bit but got that solved that by rubbing sand paper on the plastic. Planning to get the NM air intake soon, hoping it wont cause problem.

I also have the K&N typhon intake, does anyone know of any other strut braces that would fit for that besides the one posted above?

Rubs with the stock intake on my R55 too. I shaved ~1/8" off of my airbox and it still rubs.

I'm going to bump this back to the top. Does anyone know if the GTSpec strut bar will work with the JCW Stage 1 airbox?

I can now say for a fact that the GTSpec bar fits with the AEM CAI. I flipped the crossbar over and it clears the ducting just fine.

Old thread, but thought I'd add this-

CravenSpeed SARS rubs the K&N Typhoon....the bar connector in the middle removes the paint from the K&N airbox....

So it still sounds like there is no known strut bar to work with the DDM Race. Also thrown in there the Cravenspeed koala and wombat combo. Oh well, no more strut bar for me I guess.

I just installed a M7 J-Brace for a club member on a 2013 Cooper S Roadster that had the DDM Race intake. Needed to add some rubber between the box and the bar on the passenger side of the box to keep it from vibrating, but it works well.

Looks like the GT Spec Strut Tower Brace fits your intake.

Looks like you have to order at least 100 of them. LOL. I have one, and I think most folks only need just one. Now need to save up for the AEM intake! Anybody got one for sale? I know it won't do anything to improve performance.....but for the right price, I am willing to give it a shot!

Does anybody know if there is a strut bar that fits with no rubbing for RAM AIR type intakes? Im talking about the ones that have the mounted air duct underneath the hood scoop like DDM, AEM, and RD makes. See the pics for what I mean. Is anything available that wont block this set up? Im trying to find out what kind of strut bar is in the first picture.
