What happens when lazy people install a suspension.

So I finally got around to taking off the Mini Madness suspension and replacing it with the factory Cooper S suspension. (PM if interested in Mini Madness one) I did this because I am not a fan of slammed cars and my work parking lot was causing issues with the lowered suspension. As I took the Mini Madness suspension off and put the factory one back on I noticed something odd, the bottom plate for the coil was installed on the stut BACKWARDS!

You can see here where the plate sits to close to the body and the coil was rubbing. This next one shows it a big more clearly.

If you follow that ridge in the heat shielding up you can see where the coil has flattened it. Here's a pic of it after we removed the strut.

Here's how the plate was installed. This is the INCORRECT orientation for it!

Notice how the plate sticks out just as far as the linkage mount? That's bad. My pop and I took the strut apart and reversed the plate and now everything looks and rides 100% better!

And yes, that is a Harbor Freight motorcycle jack in the background. Works great on the Mini.
