Seeking input: Install suspension now, or in the Spring?

Hey all,

I recently bought a set of ST Coilovers from TheSuspensionSource. They're sitting in the box in my spare room, waiting to be installed. I still need to get spacers.

However, winter is nearly upon us, and soon I will be mounting my snow tires on a new set of steelies, therefore my car will be in the shop, on the lift with the wheels off. I'm trying to decide if I should have the coils put on now, or if I should wait until I put my summer set back on when it warms up.

Ground clearance isn't really an issue, as I don't plan on lowering much, and we don't get a lot of deep snow.

On the one hand, if I do it now, I can enjoy the new suspension and it may dull the pain of having to suffer on soft winter rubber. On the other, it might ruin the joy of the new coils since I won't be able to really see the benefit until they're paired with more performance oriented tires.

Just curious what you all would do in my position. Thanks for any input!

Cheers

If it were me I'd wait until the spring. That way when you want to fine tune everything you won't be worrying about sand and salt in the shock body threads. Much easier to adjust when they're nice and clean.

I'd imagine you really won't be out on the twisties and such during winter, I'd wait.

Come spring when you swap out again, just do it all at once and enjoy.

I hadn't thought about road grime in the threads, that's a good point. And I likely will not be doing much hard driving in the sleet. Thanks guys
