Suspension Alot of help !!
Alot of help !!
hey guys. im brand new here. i pick my car up over the weekend. i wanted to know a few things. coilovers vs springs. any and sway bars needed ? and anyone have anything that is really really reliable ? thanks guys
Depends on your intended use.
Do you want a spring set that you install and don't have / want to tinker with (like a set-it-and-forget-it modification)?
Or do you want to be able to corner-balance with spring preload and set you own ride height?
Again, depends on application.
Do you like the car to understeer or throttle lift-induced oversteer?
Typically, a rear sway is done first to flatten out the body roll and reduce a heavy understeer condition.
For which component? You've opened a huge can of worms as there's several different combinations ranging in price and application.
First, determine what you like and don't like about the handling characteristics on the car and advance your selection accordingly.

i would like to have the set and forget type, and the throttle life induced sounds about right. and i want something, that will lower my car. im guna have 17's on it. i pick i up saturday. and i wanna forget about it completely. wanna have it look nice.
Then a set of lowering springs and a set of performance struts / shocks are the way to go.
There are several spring options including: NM-Engineering, Eibach, H&R, etc.
And several options of struts / shocks: Koni, Bilstein, etc, etc.
Then a increased diameter rear sway bar is what you're looking for.
Again, several choices based on solid vs. hollow, mounting bracket style, etc.
There's a lot of archived info and photos on peoples set-ups; search the suspension sub-forum, and the wheel and tire forum.
