adjusting rear camber (have both upper and lower H-sport arms)

guys and gals,
i am toying with idea of adjusting rear camber track-side for 2011 r56s, especially for multi-day schools. the goal is to improve handling but especially to save the tires: i currently have -1.5 R (with slight toe in) yet i am chewing out the outer edge. btw, for the same reasons, i have decided to dial more camber upfront for HPDEs from -1.7 to -2.2 or so with Vorshlags. i know about the toe and etc. - looking into various solutions as we speak.

back to the rear, i have both upper and lower H-sport arms (with H-sport RSB and NM adjustable links). the alignment shop guy recommended i give upper arm three full turns in to dial in more neg camber. my limited suspension geometry knowledge tells me i should leave the upper arms alone and adjust the lower arms. what gives? as i said above, currently i have slight toe in (1/32 or 1/16 can't remember) in the rear.

The only time I've seen trackside alignment done, it was by the big boys with some pretty fancy equipment.

Make sure the upper arms are set exactly the same length as stock - that's center of hole to center of hole. Then adjust the lower arm to stock camber and toe setting. If the car is not lowered, set both upper and lower arms the same as stock.

...what wheel offset do you have? Spacers on the rear?

Adding more neg camber up front won't correct camber compensation in the rear.

Toe in, in the rear is a valuable tuning direction for street and road coourse but not autoX. Toe in allows the rear tires to begin building slip angles more in sync with the front...makes for a tossable back without the worry of it swapping around. But!!! the toe curve is somewhat influenced by the camber curve...that's why you should keep those to stock settings. I never had uneven rear tire wear...not in 183,000 miles...2,000 or so on the track.

Most of us trackheads run between -1.5 and -2 up front, and around -2.5 in the rear, FWIW.
