I just installed the H&R springs today, and I was expecting the .6" drop Tirerack reports... seems a bit more to me. I like the look though, and the ride is good, just a bit stiffer but not unbearable. Next weekend I get to see how it feels on the autocross course, that'll be the true test.

H&R's website says 1" in the front and 3/4" in the rear... I got a 40mm drop from mine front and rear (but I have an MC, not an MCS). 40mm = ~1.5"!

Tire Rack should be quoting H&R's specs...

Looks awesome to me, though. I think you'll be happy with the performance. I know I am!

H&R's are a little more than an inch drop F&R.

Here is my MINI with the H&R's.

Yeah, off topic, but - is that rack completely removeable, DiD? If so, who makes it and where did you find it?

1.2" drop is what ive experienced

Softer in the back than the H-Sports.

enough creative dremmel tool action and even 225-40-18s will fit!

Yes, they are very low! Watch your camber in the rear, I couldn't get better than -2.8 and -2.9. Will be installing adjustable lower control arms.

did you change the shocks to compensate for the lower ride?

I've thought about H&R's and a rear swaybar but am concerned about bottoming out and an even rougher ride...

I have had the H&R's on now for over 25,000 miles (with the MINI Madness rear sway bar), and I haven't had any problems with the struts or with bottoming out.

Also, no problems with the rear camber either. Tire rotation evens it out since the fronts scrub the outside edges and the rears wear the inside edges of the tires.

Here are my feelings on the H&Rs:

Installation is fairly straight-forward and easy if you have a helping hand (thanks to Peter@M7 for some tips and assistance with compressing the springs, you do not NEED a compressor)

Ride: With stock S-lites, very firm, in my opinion too firm for day-to-day use (As a matter of fact I was going to switch to H-sport springs before I got my new wheels/tires). Now that I have my 15s with a nice set of Yokohamas the ride is excellent, soft and composed and no more following the cracks on the freeway. I've been able to carry a total weight of about 350 lbs. in the backseat with no rubbing.

Aesthetics: The best IMHO. Stock height looks goofy now, especially in the back since it's up so high. I like how the springs even out the rake and make it less noticeable but don't give the car the slammed look. H-sport looks good, but too subtle in my opinion, and the Eibach has the DUMPED look which I don't find too attractive.

Handling: Really awesome

I am about -2.0 camber in back with the h-sports. I have decided after driving the car a bit I am going to hold off on a rear sway bar as the rear spring rate increase Really has help the balance. I will know better how it handles with the p-zero rosso's as well, I am just getting them broke in and am experimenting with pressures.

KW springs have more drop than the H&R springs.

h-sport < H&R < KW

Just bought the M7 springs today from Peter at m7 tuning. I'm sure they will work out just fine but I wish I could find a company that can supply aftermarket bump stops so that I won't have to cut the stockers in half. As far as I know only H-sport offers bump stops with there springs. Does anyone have pictures of there Mini with the M7s with 215/45/17s?

I cut my bumpstops at the top for the front because I wanted to use the boot... I use the H-Sports...

If you ever decide to go back to stock, you can just place the matching
two you cut together and they will work just fine.

I'm not sure what cutting at the top means. I'm not going to install them myself but I want to be up on this so that they know. Thanks

Part of the bumpstop holds the boot in place from wat I can remember.
The rear was a complete swap with the h-sport bumpstop.

Here's mine with the H and R springs.

It rides rough on the potholed roads around here in Portland , but man is it fun in the twisties.

I do have a bit of rubbing both front and rear. It seems to have "self trimmed" though

Still gotta get new rims!

Just ordered a set of H&R Springs for an 03 MC from Helix ... I live in the rough and tumble jungle of NYC ... am I to change my driving habits?

I have 205/45/17 tires currently ... i don't think rubbing will be an issue.

what else can I expect?
