Suspension Rspeed sway bar install question
Rspeed sway bar install question
I'm sure this applies to other sway bars..
I am halfway through my install and I see this part of the underbody that is so close in touching the bushing. From my searches, not many people seem to shave or file this part. Should I be worried about this part toughing the bigger bushing that came w/ my sway bar?
for the people that never filed/cut/shaved it, has it given you problems?
Thanks in advance

touching bushings
I left the underbody alone, figuring it is best not to remove protective undercoating. My bushing actually touches the underbody on my 2005 lowered cooper s.. which really bothered me, but left it anyway. I have an even larger sway bar of 25 mm (22 equivalent rate)... I will check it in a few weeks, which is about a month post install and post if a problem. I also added some 3M undercoating at point of contact for extra protection. The subframe where the swaybar is mounted to is fixed to the body, so theoretically no movement should occur....
I called up Rspeed and talked to Joe regarding either filing/shaving. Unless it's touching, it's not necessary. Since this part will not moved since it's attached to the subframe..
Spiderx was right, Rspeed crew are super people..
thanks all for the help..
