Suspension JCW Spring Struts Id
JCW Spring Struts Id
I'm considering picking up a used set of JCW springs/strut package from a 2003 JCW. Are there any distinguishing marks that show that it is genuine JCW springs/strut, e.g. are the springs red and not black? I read that the struts are made by Delphi.
Also, did the JCW suspension change from 2003 to 2006?
Thanks in advance!

look here for the part numbers, that will likely be the only way to differentiate.

I believe both applications use Delphi shocks. The JCW springs should be red and the shocks will have a JCW marking on the white sticker on the shock body. This is only the case if the car has the dealer installed "JCW suspension package". However all JCW cars did not come with the "JCW" suspension, most of them had the same sport suspension as the non-JCW Cooper S.
10mm drop and that's all you need..low enough if you are concerned with good handling dynamics. 13mm is a half inch.
This is decent kit but I don't think the shocks are strong enough to control the springs. So I would opt for Koni yellows and amte those tp the JCW springs. This is a very effective combination.
