Anyone using the Eibach 19mm rear sway bar?

Anyone using the Eibach rear sway bar listed on Eibach's website? Searched but couldn't find anyone on NAM using it. It's 19mm, SOLID, 2-way adjustable, and only $120 something. Cheaper than Alta and Hsport. I was set on getting the Hsport 19mm bar after reading the great reviews about it, but seeing how it's over $100 more than the Eibach, I'm re-thinking it. Thoughts??

Go with the Hsport the $100 extra is cheap compared to the time you'll spend regreasing the eibach. Also the Hsport has 3 adjustments rather than 2. I've already had several customers complain about the Eibach bushings.

What specific complaints have you heard about the Eibach bushings?

Hsport has 3 adjustments (probably will start off with the middle setting anyway) and Eibach has 2, but isn't the Eibach (19mm solid bar) inherently stiffer than the Hsport (19mm hollow bar)?

Wish I had technical numbers (i.e. stiffness increase in %) for the Eibach...

I went with the Eibach rear sway a month ago. Loving it so far. If you get it from autoanything.com you can usually find a 10% off or something along those lines. I got mine shipped for 90$. Look for coupon codes too. Yes its two way adjustable, but the first hole matches stock, and the second hole is closer in (stiffer), which is comprable to other 19mm sway bars stiffest setting. I don't see anyone using a 19mm sway bar on the softest setting anyways.

Pick that up, and get a pair of the zerk grease fitting bushings from WMW (way motor works), for 30$ shipped, and you'll be paird up good to go.

Thats 120$ shipped for a good sway bar set imo.

I've driven the alta 19mm rear bar and my eibach 19mm bar, can't tell the difference. Save the money and go with the Eibach.

The reason for WMW's bushings is because Eibach sent me the front sway bar bushings instead, which don't fit. Then they told me they have to custom machine the rear bushings for me, and 3 wks later sent me 17mm rear bushings instead of the 19mm they're supposed to be. Thus, skip all the trouble and get the better beffier bushings from WMW for the 19mm bar and you'll save yourself 100$ from the more expensive, comparable handling sway bars.

LMK if you have other questions--

Here are some links...

Eibach rear bar-- 100$ shipped, Looks like "KEEP5" will give you 5$ off, but google for some other coupons that may give you 10% or even better.

http://www.autoanything.com/suspensi...A2548A0A0.aspx

Here are the bushings I'm talking about

http://www.waymotorworks.com/swaybar-bushing-set.html

And I'm not sure why Way said the "extra time spent regreasing the eibach" is worth the 100$ difference? Maybe he meant with the included Eibach Bushings? If that saves you 100$, then spending 25$ extra for the bushings I linked above, will give you the same bushings on the H-Sports he refers to and you'll be saving 75$... instead of spending an extra 100$ to get the HSport Bar

Actually, looks like 125+$ difference. $220+shipping vs $95shipped.
The 19mm hsport isn't hollow actually, the competition one is, which i believe is 25mm (dont have the site open so i dont remember exactly). So the 19mm h sport and eibach on middle and stiffest setting should be relatively close, technically speaking. Obviously small differences make changes to %'s, but in this sense it shouldn't make much of a change. I feel the added stiffness from my 19mm bar for sure, and like I said, from the alta bar, I can't tell a difference.

My .02 --good luck

Wrap the bar where the bushings goes with teflon tape using a 50% overlap. Coat liberally with antiseize.. no noise for MANY miles :P

Came today, not going on the car for a bit. It does not have the shoulders or bushing hips many of the other bars have. Seems pretty reasonable.

The bushings I got with it are poly. I didn't test fit them but they look OK.

Thx, BostonR56S. Got the RSB for $100 (which included the $10 new user coupon and CA tax). Also got bushings from WMW like you recommended.

Installed the RSB (stiffest setting) along with a set of Bilstein HD shocks. Stock S springs. Shocks were easy, but the bar is a major PITA. The car (2010 MCS convertible) has an extra bolt right in the middle of the subframe that was hard to get to. Had to loosen/unbolt quite a few things in order to get to it.

That said, the new shocks/RSB is fun! I'm having a blast throwing the car into corners and hairpin turns. Should improve more once I get non-runflats and do the front camber mod.

Anyway, dlad I saved some money by getting the Eibach instead of the other more expensive ones.

I agree on PITA. Mine went on sunday, and I also went 'UGH' when I read 'drop rear subframe' in the directions. I just used the poly bushings it came with, they have radial grease grooves so the goo should stay put. The bushings fit fine too.

Nice guys! good to hear!
And yeah, the subframe dropping was a bit of a pain, but it wasn't really any harder than removing other bolts (except this one is huge haha). I ended up removing the rear shock too, just to give it even more room to fit through. Its a much easier job with two people (one on each side) and then helping each other guide it through.

I kept the bag on the sway bar when feeding it through, then pulled the bag out. This helped prevent the subframe from scratching the fresh bar =)

As for the hard part, it was trying to get the WMW bushing brackets on! those bolts did NOT want to go in for some reason. Spent 45 minutes on one side, then another 30 on the other.

My bushings that came with the eibach bar were meant for the front bar so they did not fit. Maybe they've fixed the packages since.

I got my Eibach RSB today for $105 shipped and am having it installed at MINICorsa for 150% of the purchase price. Living where I live, I couldn't possibly install it in or around my neighborhood. It's like trying to install it in Times Square or something.

I'll let you guys know what I think. I'm going to start on the stiffest setting, which from what I've read is optimal.

I have the eibach RSB and have no issues! I did end up using teflon tape around the swaybar where the bushings sits. No squeaks!

With mine installed I gotta say that it's a fairly underwhelming mod. Foe street driving at least. It's on the stiffest setting.

For those of you that installed this in your driveway, where did you place the jack when you jacked up the car, and where did you place the jack stands, to safely get under the car and drop the sub frame?

Did he say specifically where to place the jack stand?
I know where the jack point is on the sill, so I jack it up there, then put the jack stand where?
Don't want to break anything or kill myself.

Cut a 2x4 or 4x4 to fit between the jack points. Place a jack just behind the mirror location. Make sure the board is pushed all the way back to the lip and leaves a bit room next to each jack point. Jack up. I use 4 jack stands and move back and forth moving the car up in steps until I reach my jack maximum height. I needed all the height I could get to be able to torque the bottom strut bolt to 122 ft/lbs.
