Control arm and lowering spring install questions

I have 2 fairly quick questions wrt installing lowering springs and adjustable control arms. On the lowering springs when you are putting the strut back together how far down should you tighten the nut that holds everything together? With the control arm does anyone have any pointers on removing the upper bolt? I have bent the heat shield out of the way and can access the nut without issue but getting to the bolt head is a pita and i cant get my socket wrench in there to hold it because the gas tank is in the way. Any help or pointers are appreciated.

The nyt shoud bottom out and reach the torque spec. 45 Ft lbs for my HD's.

On the bars. Yea. So I have been told you "just bend the shield a little" and use "several extensions and u-joints" Enough I am going to have Mach V do mine.

I use a mid lenght socket to get to the inner lower control arm bolts, that or a standard socket and 1inch extension.
