Also worth noting. The nuts are nylock and will not back off. I drove the car for 700 miles without this sound.

try putting some grease on the perches and see if quiets down.

i am at a complete loss as to the "loose change" noise from the rear.

Just got off the phone with head guy (engineering) and he is baffled. I am going to get some part numbers for him and check a few more things. One of which is completely disconnecting the endlinks from the swaybar as you mentioned Andrew! He is a VERY nice guy and I have confidence that he will do what it takes to get it fixed and get it right.

My car was making this exact same noise. I tightened up my top bolt and it went right away. I have megan racing coilovers, with camber plates.

def disappointing. Between the noise from the rear and now this, I don't know what to think quite honestly. I took a day off from work today to do some things and one of which is hopefully get an answer on this issue. I am going to do what I can and then possibly hit the BOSCH certified garage if time permits. They have a few really good mechanics down there that will likely be able to get me an answer (I hope anyhow). I have been reading all these threads about clunk and knocks and I am getting more scared by the minute.

And I thought E30 M3's can be a pain in the **** !!! Sorry to hear about these problems you're are having. This week I'm off to install my NM Engineering springs. Hope they don't cause me these sorts of headaches. With the M3 it's no big deal as it's not a daily driver, so it can be just left to sit if necessary. But the Mini is my DD................ can't afford issues.

Tom,
I totally hear you! I very much considered the NM springs. Is the Bilstein sport strut available yet or are you going Koni? Let me know how you like them!

Checked rear subframe bolts and they were fine. Took the car out and I'll be damned is most of the noise was not present. I hope that this isn't one of these things that going to drive me absolutely insane.

They list the PSS10 full coilover adjustable as well as both HD and Sport strut/shocks. I went HD.

I noticed a lot of bolts are not torqued on my car. It started with the lug bolts at only about 30. When I did the rear shocks, the upper bolts did not seem very tight. ( considering I used a 1/4 inch drive wrench) Lower were only about 85. Front strut top nuts, not much more than snug. Bolt on knuckel, well it was tight. OOhmph.

In about 1K I go in for my 15K. I will demand they check all the chassis bolts for torque. From what I gather, mine is not the only car that did not get proper torque.

I'm actually staying stock with the NM springs until stock dies or I hate it so much I'm forced to change it .......... LOL. Hopefully my buddy calls this week so we can make use of his shop. I want this done BEFORE I drive up to Montreal for the F1 races.

Interesting. Everything on my car that I have touched has seemed to be at the correct torque. I am going to play with the dampening in the front a bit and see if I can induce anything. I'll keep this thread up to date with findings...

Tom,
That was the same route that I was going to go. Let me know how it feels!

I would love to know what the REAL minimum drop is. I know they have a spec, but I suspect it is like the KW's I put on my RSX, I was able to only drop about a half in the front and 3/4 in the rear. That would be acceptable on my Mini. Going to 60mm springs means you have a lot more flexability. I just wish you could get them in half/K increments. The HD's really improved my car, but it is still a tad stiff. I still may have to get justa springs if I want to stay full height.

I spoke to Scott at Bilstein who is very knowledgable. He actually owns a MINI. He recommended to me to run the dampening at 2-3 for typical CT roads and, although the kit states one can go LOWER, he recommends 5-10mm above the lowest setting for compliance. I will give you guys a full review.

It will also be interesting to see if any of the noise disappears. Really though...just overall pretty unhappy with the Multipro's. Pretty noisy in the back and I still think that the issues I have or had are stemming from the coilover on the driver's side. Tough to say for sure but...I really don't knwo what else it could be.
