Issues with TSW springs and IE fixed camber plates

A vendor that carries TSW springs and IE fixed camber plates recommended against me using these two parts together. They said the combination causes rubbing.

I am not ignoring their recommendation; I have spent a lot of time over the past few months researching parts and was about to make this purchase but haven't read anything advising against it.

Has anyone seen/heard issues with using TSW Springs and Ireland Engineering Fixed Camber Plates together?

Any OEM sized (diameter) coil spring can rub when you add negative camber. A little tender loving care with a hammer will take care of that. the more camber the more hammer. You don't have that problem with most coilovers because the spring diameter is smaller.

Yeah that's a problem with any lowering spring with camber plates. Texas Speed Works says that right on their website. They do describe a method of "clearancing" the spring with a big mallet though. The OEM springs and also the aftermarket ones are pretty fat and there is not a lot of room for extra camber. My R53 friend says he can only get about about -1.25 degrees (without using a mallet). You are probably safer to get adjustable camber plates - at least you can back them off if there is rubbing.
btw you should be asking this in the 1st gen forum if your sig pic is up to date.

I have IE Camber Plates w/ stock suspension and it has been rubbing ever since I put them on but I didn't know thats what the noise was until recently. What are the long term effects of not hammering in the wheel wells?
