Rear Strut Lower Bolt? Help!

ok all, i was re-modding my MINI S ( i had restored to stock to try to sell but long story short changed mind) and I have all my suspension back together BUT the passenger side rear strut bolt. I can not for the life of myself get the bolt to go all the way through. it goes about 80% where the tip of the bolt is flush with the trailing arm (i think thats what the giant arm is called). I can not get it to go any more. the other side was easy.

i jacked the suspension up a little and lined up the strut hole with the trailing arm hold with a screw driver. any other tips??? threads look good on the bolt and in the hole. not sure if i should try to order a new bolt?

here is a pic of the bolt (borrowed from someone else's how-to since i didnt have a camera with me)

They can be a PITA.
Try lining it up but this time put the bolt through from the opposite side, remove and then go back and try it again from the correct side. Sometimes it clears up the threads.

btw; what is a JC Penney Aero ?
