suspension and my skill level in driving?

Ok, I'm reading a lot about suspension mod, for improved handling, now, I'm just an average driver, I do not have training in proformance driving.."goin to take a few drivers edge and other proformance driving later" for track days..
I've only auto X a couple times.. Now, as for dealing with the suspension for my skill level, I don't know if I'm ready to make my car a bit more responsive than the stock suspension.. and Oversteer!! for everyday driving..don't know how to handle "getting loose" and coping with spin outs or over corrections.!! I mean, for normal daily driving.
Understeer, is prolly good for unskilled drivers that get surprised with a squirrel in the road!
So what do you think? what rec's for stock MCS for daily and some track time ?
Like should I stiffen the swaybar? or will I spin out as I'm goin around a corner , and I have to hit the brakes, cuz someone cut in front of me..will my back end come forward..??? just wondering??

Have you joined http://www.metroplexmini.org/ ?

There are a lot of very talented people in that club and if I lived in the DFW area I would join - listen - ask and learn.

There's nothing wrong with keeping the suspension stock for the track! Learn as much as you can about driving, figure out what parts of the car aren't doing what you want them to, and go from there.

But brake pads are a must!

The average driver doesn't need suspension upgrades. At track days, you only learn how handle your car at (relatively) high speeds. At autoXs, you learn more about precision driving and the feel of the car; often times more useful in everyday driving. So, I would suggest you do some more autocrossing, don't be afraid to ask for tips and pointers from people, and just get more seat time. There's no upgrade better than experience.

stick with the stock suspension. Learn the car first then if you feel it necessary upgrade.
