Can't wait to hear your impressions on these! If I did coilovers, this was the route I was wanting to go

watch the front end links. on a friends r53 the end links contact part of the inside wheel well, we tapped it in about 1/4" so they clear the inner wall. i don't have a pic but you may or may not hear/have this problem due to tolerances between each vehicle and r50's might not even have this issue.

think you have to use the endlinks designed for these coilovers to work.

So yesterday I finally got around to dumping my MINI

Starting height

Finishing Height :D

Clearance

I actually had to raise it up a little bit from there cause I couldnt turn the wheels without rubbing.

I'll post more pics from during the actual surgery later on today.

These things go LOW. I still have ALOT of room left to go down.

Initial impressions are very good. The drive home last night wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. On a good road, they feel almost like stock. Bumps feel a little harsher but thats to be expected. I was prepared to feel like I was riding on railroad tracks but Im pleasantly surprised. I did have a flat when we finished the install though so I did have to ride home on the donut so I couldnt go too quick or turn too hard. Even at slow speeds and taking it easy in corners though, I do feel a HUGE handling improvement. I'll update this thread daily as they settle and I get more used to them.

Now THATS a drop. Man, if you dropped it that low, your never going to be able to hit a ramp again. Nice look though.

You have a Cooper S right? Do you felt these coil overs were bumpier than stock? How about body roll and handling compared to stock?

His car is actually a non S (R50). He just got the CF hood and it comes with the scoop. I give him grief about that all the time. lol.

About the rest of the question (handling and whatnot) I can't answer. He said he was happy with it, though.

^^yup I have an R50

As far as bumpiness goes, it feels basically the same as stock to me. Its a little harsh when you go over a bump but I dont mind it.

I havent really been able to throw it into any corners because of the donut but even at low speeds I can tell there is practically no body roll at all. It handles great now.

Well yesterday I found out Im having some major issues out front

The tires are rubbing on the rings that you adjust the height from so theres now a trench about an 8th of an inch deep cut into the sidewall all the way around the inside lol. Im running OEM 16s (16x6.5 +48) w/ 195/55/16 tires so watch out for that if you're planning on running the same size.

We installed the same coils on xxTHIR13ENxx's car yesterday and he doesnt have the issue with his 17s (17x7.5 +39) on 205/40/17 rubber.

My new wheels with stretched tires should solve the problem. Hopefully I'll have them on the car within the next 2 days. I guess until then I need to just keep my fingers crossed lol

Test Fits from yesterday

They're gonna look awesome, bro.

Just to clarify, the tires I'm running are 205/40/17's.
