Front Control Arm Bushings

Does anybody have a "How To" on changing the front control arm bushings on a R56 yet. I am wanting to change out the front rubber bushings with the PowerFlex bushings and was wanting to know if there are any shortcuts for this procedure.

It's the same as doing an R53, just unbolt the steering rack. Here is a link to a How to:
http://www.motoringalliance.com/foru...sub-frame.html

We also have the Powerflex bushings in stock if you need a set.

I wanted to thank MiniGuru for the link for replacing the front control arm bushings. I would like to add one thing to process that the instructions left out and that is that there are three bolts holding the steering rack down to the subframe not two as the instructions show. There is a bolt in the middle of the rack that must also be removed or lowering the subframe will pull the rack down with it.

It was also the best upgrade to the car I have done so far. The car is steady as a rock at any speed now and much more percise. Well worth the work.

Glad your liking them so much, I got the cores back the other day. Let me know what else I can help with in the future.

For anyone reaidn this...

just a word of adivce. dont bother playing around with the wrack bolts. just remove your key shake your wheel a bit so the elv locks the wheel and you cant turn it anymore. then remove the 13 mm bolt from under the steering shaft on the inside the car. then remove the tie rod bolts and disconnect the power supply and the wrack will drop right out with the frame.
:-) happy motoring.

True, but the differences are minor and are described in the thread above.

I need to do this job after 35k miles on bushings. I changed the end link but the noise returned so here we go again. Last time I had the entire subframe off which Id rather avoid.

I found 2 vids.
