Suspension Please Read if you had vibration after lowering
Well put. I think you're absolutely right. I'm just concerned about the added wear and tear on the CV joints now...this isn't something I really expected to delve into when upgrading my suspension...
Resurecting the thread again.
I recently found an inner leaking CV boot (leaking from under the inner clamp). After about a week I had time to repack the grease (with generic CV grease) and replaced the clamp upon inspection of no tears on the oem boot. Not sure how long the boot was leaking before I found it, but I was under the car about 2 weeks before that and didn't notice any grease (which is how I noticed it this time). Well the aftermarket clamp was a PITA to get on and required some hammering of the clip (while on the car). The day after replacing the boot clamp, I noticed a vibration under load that was getting worse. I don't think i could have hit the shaft hard enough to bend the axle, but, maybe I shifted something within the cv joint (and going back on nitro's grooves in the joint theory), and now is causing a vibration. I also don't see a one day change from the inner cv joint being OK to going bad. I've been trying to figure it out over the last two weeks now, with no results still. Changed the wheels with no difference. Not I'm thinking maybe some of the ***** within the joint had grooves set in them from being lowered (Mach V 1.25") over the last 2 years (with no vibrations up until now) has shifted and isn't spinning in the same "direction" as they were.
Thoughts?

i just installed a set of megan C/O and am getting a vibration i raised the car up 1/2" and the vibration got softer but is still there. there is about a 1/2" wheel gap and i want to eliminate all wheel gap but dont want to worry about blowing my axles. i have a 2013 MCS with about 6000 miles on it. any opinions?
Drive it till it stops. You have low K on your Mini. Mine vibrates a little sometimes in 2nd gear when I have low rpms. My car was lowered at 100,000km. If I need to get new CV's and etc. then I will.
You need to pay to play.
