Sway bar recommendation needed

Since spring is looming and will be swapping my tires, I see this as an opportunity to change out my MCS rear sway bar.

I'm looking at getting a 19mm sway bar and don't know if there are any differences between brands. I can get the Alta and Hotchkis Sport at the same price and would like to know if one is better than the other. The car is my daily driver and do 2-3 track day events a year.

I have searched the threads and my question has been partially answered.

Forget the rear bar, and install a set of fixed camber plates in the front instead. You will get better cornering vs. a rear bar.

Ireland or Dinan offer these at around the price of a rear bar.

Why do you want a bar in the first place?

Well i just want to make sure he feels the handling is lacking before slapping a sway bar into it.
no need to spend money if you don't have to.

I thought it may give the car a more neutral feel during cornering (track day events, of course).

19mm H-sport. You'll love the difference!

With only a rear bar, you will still have less than optimal lateral grip at the front. While the car will be more balanced, it won't have appreciably more cornering traction at the front, where it needs it.

I did a 19mm H-Sport rear bar, then about a year later added Ireland fixed camber plates. Both made a real difference in handling. Agreed, the bar alone doesn't really reduce understeer, it induces oversteer to compensate - but for most folks who aren't driving at the limit on the track, the effect is similar - a car that rotates better around corners.

That said - IMHO the fixed Ireland camber plates PLUS a moderate rear bar (19mm for most folks) is a good setup for aggressive twisties and moderate track use. My car is a daily driver and I do 20,000 miles of annual mixed use, highway, city, track days, twisties. No autocross.

I like the H-sport bar because it gives you more adjustment options to play with (3) than some of the 2-position bars... and the zerk fittings for easy lubrication.

I'm personally using a 20mm bar on the soft setting (of 3), equivalent to a 19mm bar on medium, also with the IE fixed plates. it's well-balanced, and has a lot more grip than with the bar alone.
