Ok, took out the strut and tried tightening it. The top of the bolt comes up above the nut by about 1.75"-1.8". I can turn it some more with much force but the cylinder in the strut itself rotates with it. I reinstalled it after and the darn sound is still there! ARGH! I'm at my wits end. Anyone with different input?

So basically this is what I've tried so far;

1. Lubed the bushings on the Alta 19mm rear sway bar.
2. Retightened all bolts(this includes subframe bolts, rear sway bar bushings to endlink bolts, strut to trailing arm bolt, strut top 2 bolts, control arm bolts)
3. Disconnected end link to rear sway bar and drove around; sound still present but it was all over the rear of the vehicle.
4. Took out strut and retightened nylock nut and every bolt I can see.

Currently the sound has improved(no more coming from both sides, just one side from the rear). I believe it's the rear left.

In step 3, are you saying, the sound changed when you disconnected the end link? Did you disconnect both at once?

The sound did not change a whole lot when they were both disconnected. I believe they were all over the place cause there were added noise from the loose end link hitting things while going over bumps. However, when I reconnected them both and retightened everything, the sound got isolated to only one area in the rear(which I'm suspecting is the left rear )

Oh and yes I disconnected both at the same time.

The sound started on the right and is now on the left. Doesn't sound like it is the strut. Maybe try to completely removing the left side end link.
