Coilovers with camber plates install

Ok, so, I know there's a lot of coilovers with integrated camber plates on the market, BC Racing, CROSS, Stance, Megan only to say some names. I also know that to have clearance to adjust the camber with the BCs you've got to trim the strut towers holes otherwise the bolts may not be reachable so I was wondering how do the other coilovers of this kind fare on that aspect. I know there's lot of people with Cross and Megan coilovers so I hope to get some answers at least on them.

Otherwise, my option would be to get a set of H&R or Bilstein coilovers and then put some camber plates on them, that way I wouldn't have to cut anything, which as for now is the only downside of the BCs in mye eyes.

EDIT: Does anyone have the Eibach Pro-street coilovers? How are they, both quality and price wise?

I think it all depends on what you want to do with your car, I don't plan to track it too much, only twice a year, maybe thrice if I have enough free time, so my aim is to have a good street setup. I know Cross are the excellence here, but I don't think I'll need them. BC are good from what I've read, and not pricey, but they can't really slam the car if that's what you're looking for. to me, that's not a problem, but having to cut the strut tower holes to make the bolts on the camber plates reachable might be...

Come on guys, I know there's lot of people with coilovers here on NAM, give us your feedback, not only on the ride quality but also on the install!

The nice thing about the M7s is that they are externally adjustable. They also fit with out any modifications to the car. Ride quality is very good and with 15 adjustment the range is also good.

If anyone is interested I have a set of M7s for sale, 16 months old, 3000 miles.

As far as damper adjustment goes, unless you're a hardcore auto-x/track junkie you probably won't use this. I set my PSS9's at 5 (1 being stiffest) and realized it's not stiff enough, I'm yet to adjust them to 1. So far I love my PSS9s, build quality is top notch. The rear can really be slammed and the front can down far enough for most people. Pics in my gallery if you're interested, I have about another 3/4" to go in the rear.

Install would be the same regardless of what coilover setup you decide to go with, only difference is the strut towers may need to be trimmed for Megans/BCs like you mentioned.

Also, keep in mind if you went with 2.5" ID springs on your coilovers the TSW camber plates will give you some extra travel, which means you can go even lower or keep the same height with more travel. That's what I'll be going with when the time comes.

Thanks wake, I'm eyeing the PSS9 too. I'm no track junkie but I'm a bit cautious on coilovers that don't have the rebound adjustment, if they are too soft or too hard there's nothing you can do short of changing them with another set, which is costly and time consuming. The PSS9 would allow for easy playing with the settings to find out which one suits me best, while the BC/Megans/Cross etc wouldn't unless I cut and made holes in the car...not something I want to do. Plus, with only 9 settings it's easier to find the one you like.

The only down of the PSS9 is the price, it's stretching my budget a bit...

Just to know, since I plan to get TSW plates to substitute my IE which have probably failed, which 2.5"ID springs did you get? Swift? Which rates?

And how much camber could you reach with the normal PSS9 springs?

Yeah the PSS9s are tough on the wallet. I think you misunderstood me, I haven't added the TSW plates yet, that will be in the distant future lol.

I haven't really looked into it but Bilstein or Swift probably. I think camber is limited to about -2 with stock-style springs.

Oh, ok then, I thought you already had them Anyway, I've seen people get to around -2,4 degrees with stock style springs which is more than enough for me, I plan to stay around 2 degrees

There ya go haha. To be honest I'm not concerned with the extra camber adjustment, I just want the extra drop that is a result with the TSW plates.

It made all my installs so easy. Now I have to plan out my installs in advance in order to make sure I can borrow all the necessary tools from different friends lolol

You don't have to trim the shock towers when using Megan, BC or Cross coilovers. I've heard of some cutting the towers but, there's no need to. You just need the right tool to reach the adjustment screws, A ball ended T hex wrench works nicely ! If it's a really tight fit over the adjustment screw, you need only a flat head screw driver to massage and raise the metal over the screw to be adjusted. Cutting the towers is a little to permanent for me !

That's what I think too Anyway, I'm glad you found a solution by gently raising the edge with a screwdriver, but I think I'm going to get Bilstein PSS9 coilovers, they have the adjusting **** on the bottom of the shock so that makes it easier to adjust, especially the rear, and they will fit with camber plates like the IE or TSW ones, so no need to even use the screwdriver Plus, 9 settings are more than enough for me
