strut tower trimming

i just bought a set of megan coilovers ...and I realize that the strut towers need to be trimmed a bit in order to gain full adjustability for the integrated camber plates.

I'm a bit hesitant in cutting off pieces of my car .... Does anyone here have pictures to illustrate what kind of cutting is required for this sort of setup? or is there any way to adjust the bolts so i dont have to trim the strut towers???

Thanks
anthony

I know it's been done and there are pics on NAM somewhere, I just hope someone can find and post them here. It's just trimming a little bit out of the round sheet metal. You may also want to try a ball Allen tool which some have found gets more neg camber without cutting sheet metal.

Yup, that's definitely trimmed. I wanted to trim as little as possible, so it probably looks pretty normal until you compare the pic with your own towers. It's been a few years now so I can't remember exactly, but I think you'll find the opening at the top of an untrimmed tower raises up like mine and then flattens back out sort of parallel to the top of the tower. It's hard to explain, but the flat top part that's parallel to the top of the tower is all that's trimmed from mine.

That's an old pre-alignment pic taken right after the trimming was done. I think I'm at -2 now (can't remember for sure just this minute) and could go a bit further before needing a ball end allen.

I think Cor Blmy's trimming is pretty standard for adjustable camber plates. Mine look exactly the same, only in Dark Silver !!
