I like the cleaner look of the install without the CAI heatshield. Can you explain what you meant by the "OEM bracket model"?

This whole thread has been very informative as you guys have been posting some great details and pics of the mods that I have planned for the future.

Also, I read another post recently about the M7 heatshield and that they had made a mod to prevent it from giving you any rub on the inside of the bonnet...maybe wise to contact M7 on that for details.

I look forward to reading more here on these topics.

When you order from M7, they offer two kinds of brackets, one to clear most, not all, but most aftermarket intakes. The other is to clear their intake systems as they have a variety. Thank you, I do like the look of it better without the heat shield, it has that cleaner look to it. Again, thanks!

dts, clean install and good pictures. You had me confused for a little while, but then you clarified the mod to the Alta CAI.

Nicely done.

My cornering felt tighter and smoother, and let's face it, the handling on the MINI is by no means bad, but when something can improve on an already great thing, you got a great product. Thumbs Ups to M7. I included some images, more to come.
You probably should check that bolt next to the cross bar in the third photo. Looks like it's going to rub against the bar at some point in rev.

Hey guys and gals I don't have the photos handy, but I have put on several of these strut braces with ALTA intakes.

The current ALTA air box DOES interfere and while I didn't think to BEND it like the gent above (although that looks fine) I used a dremel and made a relief in the ALTA air box, then placed the rubber trim back over it. Looks REALLY nice.

I will see about making a template for folks to mark their boxes and include it with the strut braces when they leave here. The aluminum cuts pretty quickly.

NOTE: a newer version of the air box will be out in November that will have that cut already in it.

Finally, on the MAF connector. Rotate the maf such that the plug is away from the bar. Just loosen the clamps and then twist it out of the way.

Let me know if I can help in anyway further!
