05 Hub measurement needed..

Question for you R53 owners, If you happen to have one of your front wheels off could you grab a measurement for me. I tried to remove my wheel last night and was unable to, I'm trying to figure out how tall the hub is.

Thanks in advance.

good morning i think it 57mm anyway the wheel did'nt come off
cause the wheel is hub centric meaning the wheel is more or less pressed
fit to the hub the lug nuts are there to make sure make sure the wheel won't
come off, to get the wheel off try hitting the back side with a rubber
dead blow so you won't marr your wheel it takes a little bit but it'll come off

Thanks for the feedback, I was trying for a bit yesterday to get one of the wheels of and had no luck. I know that the center bore is 56.1, I'm trying to figure out the hight of the center for clearance purposes. The height from the base to the upper circular lip.

Thanks again.

do you mean the hub height? it's 10mm. that's why they say 10mm spacers that do not have a machined hub lip are the spacers of death.

Thanks glnr13,
Yup the hub height, that would be it, is it exactly 10mm, I've been searching for diagrams or specs for the parts and can't come up with any.
Trying to get exact measurements for these front spacers...

Do you know if the center hub bolt sticks out past the 10mm or if it is lower than the hub height.

Thanks again manq,
-Marc

i dont have an exact measurement but i put on 2 5mm spacers just to have a look see and there was just a teeny tiny lip still. 1 mm left over but it's hard to say if that means it is 11mm since the spacers i used were cheap-o universal spacers. their tolerance might be off.

They're not exactly 10mm, they're slightly taller. If you make your spacers with a 10mm deep hole they won't fit. They also won't fit the front at all unless they're bored out all the way through, because of the nut you were talking about.. All the dimensions you need are right on the drawings I made and posted over on the m|u.

Thanks for the feedback Adam,

I passed the measurements on to Andris at Skulte, it's tricky since the hub bore is 56.1 and the wheels inner diameter is 57.1. They will be bored out all the way through. So from your specs the hub height is roughly 12.7mm tall.
I think they are going to cut the spacers to be a bit shy of that #, with a slight lip to allow for the wheel/spacer to have some hub meat for support.
I don't think I'm going hub centric since there's really not enough room to work with, besides, I'll also be running tuner lugs due to the re-drill so that will help center things since it allows for tuner centric fitting..
