should the front sway bar be replaced on a mini cooper s?
and what is the size of the factory bar? the links look very
small on yhe front should you change them? what is the
best bar for the back? i heard that the 22mm is too much for
the mini for driving in the street which 90%of us do.

Hotchkis carries a light sway bar set for both the rear and front end. The front sway bar is stiffer than stock and so is the rear, but it seems not worth it for most people because the rear sway bar neutralizes things very well itself with the stock front bar. I think the biggest drawback to this set is that it takes a few hours to swap the front bar, so most go for the rear madness/alta bars.

I have the H-sport front and rear sway and think that the front didn't make that much of a difference compared to the rear. The time involved for the front makes it that much more not worth while.

I have the new H-Sport Rear Competition bar at medium setting, with front sway bar stock. Feels plenty stiff for me. Couldnt see the need to do th front for even heavy street use. I have not changed the drops links fornt or rear, and I think for street use that should be fine too. The H-Sport Competition rear sway is 27mm Outside tubular diameter, with a 22mm nominal stiffening rate if my memory serves me correctly.
