eBay brake kits

anybody ever try or hear of anyone trying any of the brake kits that are on ebay. I see drilled/slotted rotors/pads/ss lines for sale all the time in the $250 for all 4 wheels which seems like a good price...but are they cheap for a reason? Looking for some rotors, pads and ss line but dont want to break the bank.

ebay is great, but i certainly wouldn't trust ebay on something that is as important as brakes...

i'd just get pads, to be honest, at the most basic level, its the best way to increase the ability to stop

there are the brembo/zimmerman rotors for all 4 (B up front/Z out back) on ebay all the time. For like $180 shipped. If I didnt have my Stoptech BBK I would have been all over them...

I believe that the larger calibers are more important and would be paramount in doing the brake upgrade.

Getting a good quality and size calibers makes a world of a difference.

For a little more you can work with vendors on this site, get quality parts and still get a good deal.
For example get TSW rotors for $199 and hawk pads for around $100. Only $50 more than ebay and you know who you are dealing with and the quality of the parts.

I agree ebay seems to get a bad rap you need to do your research but there are deals to be had, a lot of reputable vendors use ebay to tap an international market. I bought a set of drilled rotors for another car, had them on for over 3 years with no cracking etc and they were a no name brand.

I agree not all ebay parts are bad, and I did not say they were.

However, I have seen brembo rotors which were drilled by the seller and dangerous. The ones I saw cracked and were junk within 5,000 miles.
I have also seen parts advertised on ebay as from a reputable maker, but the goods were knock-offs.

I have no idea if the equipment the original poster is asking about is good or bad, just saying for $199 you can get four rotors from TSW and know they are good.

For me the $19 is worth it to support a vendor of NAM and know what I am getting.
Just my $.02

My two cents. My last modded car, b4 I found the love of my life, my MINI, I got an "Ebay set" and didnt like the end results, stock pads eating through rotors, at a fast rate. And that wasnt even racing. 5000 miles and I went back to the stock rotors. Go with a vendor and parts that has a good reputation. Like said above, the braking system is not something to go cheap on.
