HR Springs

just a quick question. Are hr sport springs the same as H & R springs? Are they the same company?

Never heard of HR sport Springs. H&R is indeed well known in the suspension industry though.

Ahh, ya didn't think of that. H-Sport = Hotchkins, H&R = It's own company. Both are reputable companies. They're both progressive springrate, H&R is a bit more drop IIRC. 1.3" on the H&R's vs .9"-1" on the H-Sports?

I went from H-Sports to H&R greens and I could have sworn than my H&R's were linear rate. The spring material was also substantially thicker than the H-Sports. Scott M. of CCC had suggested I try the H&R's after I kept bottoming the H-Sports while autocrossing and canyon carving--but it was also later determined a big part of the problem was a faulty install--my own fault.

FWIW, the H&R green coils are not the same springs that Moss MINI has been selling for quite awhile--which offered more drop than the H-Sports. My H&R's seem to drop very similar to the H-Sports.

Could be, I was under the impression that TSW springs were the only linear available, I got tired of looking and went to coilovers .

I also went to h&r from hsport thinking that they where linear. Dang interweb. They do feel more linear than the h-sport, but I confirmed it by calling h&r. They would only tell me that the springs are progressive, 10% softer to 60% stiffer. That is also how it feels to me.

I still may try some actual linear springs, I don't like the exponential rate increase when hitting large dips.

I have the H&R coilovers (red springs) and have had nothin but issues for the past 4 months. the front rings are all the way to the top and i have 1.5 inches of clearance in the front (aero kit). yes 1.5 inches. the lip under the aero kit is completly cracked about the entire width of the kit because of scraping everywhere. 2 shops havent been able to figure out the problem. Any ideas on a fix? back to stock or new springs perhaps? I just dont want to shell out more money for my suspension to be looked at and not solved. any ideas on springs that are taller?
