Suspension adjusting rear track?
adjusting rear track?
If someone has installed 2 sets of adjustable control arms in the rear of their car, it is my understanding that by shortening the control arms and shifting the rear mouting points of the trailing arm you are able to narrow the rear track.
Anyone know how much room for adjustment is there? Are there things that could possibly get in the way or possibly cause rubbing on wider wheels etc?

yeah, there isnt much clearance between the tire and the trailing arm. If you ran a big rim like a 18, with relativly narrow tire, like a 205, or maybe even a 215, you should be able to do it. Not entirely sure why you want to do it tho? An alternative to getting spacers the get wider track in the front than in the back? Just curious

Sounds like you need to use a wheel with a different offset.
nah I'm totally fine with the offsets of my wheels...they are perfect where they are. Exactly how i wanted them.. I just made this thread to find out about the adjustment capabilities of the rear track of our cars. Thanks though.

I would think that you'd be able to get 'em in about 1/8" to 1/4" at least, but I'm not sure if that would place undue stress on the bushing at the front of the trailing arm. You might also induce some weird alignment issues, although with two adjustable control arms (per side), it's possible you could adjust the toe correctly. However, doing so *might* also be at odds with getting the wheels in.
I'm guessing. I haven't torn apart the rear suspension to see how it all fits and works; I just know the basics.

If you have both upper and lower adjustable arms, then yes, you should be able to narrow the track with no problems at all. You might get as much as 1/2" in on each side wih the trailing arm bushing carrier.
Also just try tweekin the arms. You can use the top or the bottom to adjust both toe and camber.
