Wheel spacers, anyone have them?

Wheel spacers. I saw the mod below, and it sounds pretty cool, but I'm wondering if there are any potential side effects of having the wheels spaced a bit wider. Has anyone done this or seen one in person? I'd assume since this is a mod on a mini site that it's set up to function, but I prefer not to assume

I don't plan on getting larger wheels or anything, just the standards that come with the "sidewalk".

I installed 5mm hubcentric Eibachs when changed to 225x45x17s with excellent results and work great. You'll need longer bolts (included with the package).

There are number of threads, found via the search function on this forum, that will give you the whole story on hub spacers and concentric rings. Especially read posts by meb and minihune who know what they are talking about. Thick spacers may cause wheel bearing problems.
I am about to install custom 8mm spacers with integrated concentric rings (56.1-73mm) for my Kosie K1s. I'll report when done.

Dr. Phil,
Where did you find 8mm spacers with concentric rings? I want to get 8mm spacers but I had not found 8mm without rings at Mini Madness. Most companies have 5mm and 15mm with nothing in between because of issues with thinkness of the ring.

If you are running an aftermarket wheel that requires centering rings (has a larger ID than the MINI's hub diameter), you can make hubcentric spacers such as this for those pesky "in-between" thicknesses:

Bummer, before posting I did searches for "wheel spacers" and "extensions" and found nothing.

I haven't seen any MINIs with spacers, is there a noticable visual difference with them? 5-8mm doesn't seem like much?

Actually, just looked at Jason's gallery and see some of his results. I can definitely see the rear difference, do you have similar spacers on the front?

The wheels I am running in those pictures are a 15x8 +36 offset with a 1/4" spacer (6.4 mm), effectively a 15x8 with a +30 offset so they appear pretty agressive, that is my track setup. I run identical spacers front and rear with those wheels.

I had to get them custom fabricated. The spacers Jason posted the photo of would not work for me: my Kosei K1s have a center bore of 73mm compared to the MINI hub diameter of 56.1mm--that's a big centering ring! I just didn't want to run both spacers and rings if I could have them integrated. I think that 8mm will look great on the rear but still might not be enough on the front. I might go for 12 or 13mm on the front, we'll see.

This is clearly an old thread, but I'm looking for a bit more info on the subject.

I'm running M7 springs on stock X-Lite wheels. I'm basically just looking for a hair of a wider stance, 5mm or 8mm. So far I've only found that moss carries anything and it's the H&R kit. $170 for spacers all around is a little silly so I'm asking where else I can find the spacers and extended wheel hardware. The price for the H&R wheel bolts aren't bad, but $50 for 2 spacers is a little much.

Anyone else running some spacers on stock wheels or know other vendors offering the parts I'm looking for?

$50 is pretty much the going rate for a set of H&R spacers, (optionimports.com sells for $45) but I'm pretty sure I found another brand at a slightly cheaper price... On one of the MINI sites. Just do a google for it, you're looking for whatever width with a 4x100 bolt pattern.

$25 for 3 or 6 mm spacers. Out of stock on the 6mm ones currently but contact vendor.

At my local auto upgrade shop I found generic spacers 3mm for about $6 each. They are universal fit. I think PEP Boys have them too.

I had custom Alloy billet 3mm spacers made for about $35 a pair- they are flat at work with centering rings.

I used 15mm spacers up front with 38mm offset BBS wheels and 5mm spacers in the rear with the same wheels. Front to rear offset variation was 10mm. This was a dedicated track setup - many other changes were made to work with these spacers.

Today I have the same wheels with 5mm spacers up front only.
