Window Seal when closing door

Hi all. i saw that someone had this problem with their car but i cannot find the thread.
i have had the car for 2 days and my window on the drivers side will not go up when i close the door. i tried opening/closing about 10 times and nothing happened. Then i tried getting back in, rolling down the window a little and putting it back up with the door open. it went up, then automatically came down a little bit as it should. got out and tried closing again, and nothing happens.

Sounds like an adjustment is in order. Not sure how Mini has engineered this, but I would imagine there is something that signals a successful door closure and triggers the window to go up.

The trigger may be a simple switch which needs re-positioning, or replacing. Take it to the dealer and see what is up.

Haven't had that problem, but I have had a problem with the window seals on both doors folding over on the inside. I've had to fold them back twice.

I dont know why, but it is working now. I played with it for a while longer and i dont know what made it finally happen, but it did.

Come to think of it, i took the car for a shopping trip before i discovered the problem. on the way home, i did notice wind noise from the window....so obviously, it happened out there for the first time and not at home like i thought.

On the R53, the way to reset the window so that it correctly dips and closes securely when you open and close the door is to close the window while the door is closed, and continue holding the toggle switch in the up position a few seconds after the window has already closed. This resetting procedure may be the same with the R56 and you may have actually done that without realizing it. But if it happens again, try resetting it this way and see if it works.
