The Burning Smell

This thread started on the cabrio board, but I thought I'd post on this topic here... another MCSc owner and I (5555 miles & 1500 respectively) still have the new car plastic burning smell... We both wondered if that were normal? How long (if ever) it took to go away? Or if we were doing something wrong?

Mine seems to have subsided some this week after I got an SES light (car runs-out fine; I'm scheduled to visit the dealer next week anyway, I'll take that up with them then...)

Any thoughts form your more experienced owners?

Thanks & regards,
Mark Gibson

We have two 2006 MCSCs, and I'd say the the burning smell was completely gone from both cars by around the 6-7,000 mile range.
