piece of gravel in pulley track

Part of removing the oil pan involves removing the drive belt. On the belt I noticed that one of the ribs was eched out, and the belt was starting to split at that line. Upon inspecting the pulleys, the A/C condenser had a small piece of gravel in one of the tracks. It is a mystery how this got in there. The splash shield should have stoped this. I don't even know how long it's been there. It was carefully removed with a small pear of tweasers so as to avoid knicking the tracks. Well, once I get my oil issues sorted out I'll get a new belt.

Sounds like a one-in-a-gazillion chance. Makes you wonder what you did wrong.
