wheel bolt torque?

Just got home with the wife's new 2006 mini last night. I had the dealer put the snows on from her 2002 that we traded and it was a good thing, Lake Erie was being dumped on upstate NY from Buffalo to Rochester! I need to retorque the bolts tonight as there will be a little over 100 miles on these wheels since they were swapped. Does anyone know if mini has changed the wheel bolt torque since 2002/2003? Bentley has it as 85 ft-lb for the earlier hardware.

I'm not sure what stud size you have. MINI made a change in '06 and the later production got 14 mm studs vs 12 mm for earlier production models. I have a GP with 14 mm studs and the torque is 100 ft/lbs. Best to check with your dealer.

Our '06 MCSa was manufactured before the ~April switch over from M12 to M14 lug bolts, so it has M12 ones. Per its manual (dated 2005), the lug bolt torque specification is 88.5 lb-ft / 120 Nm.

Because our other European car (with M14 lug bolts) specifies 87 lb-ft / 120 Nm torque, I have set my torque wrench to 88 lb-ft. Its easier with a common setting. Plus, it can't be set exactly at either 88.5 lb-ft or 120 Nm.
