need help with some codes
My SES light has been on for a while.
I had autozone run some codes for me.
They read P0138 and P1681
The former is the O2 sensor but no idea what the second one is.
Can anyone look it up for me as my Bentley book is still on the way from amazon.
Amazingly, the light went off after the reading. Can anyone explain that?

P1681 Electronic Throttle Control Monitor Level 2/3 Engine Speed Calculation Error
Did you happen to spin the tires? Sounds like just a minor glitch, I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes you'll get a warning like that and it'll go off due to a simple malfunction.

I believe i did spin the tires somehow when I went over one of those treacherous NYC bumps. Thanks for the info.
I am having the car inspected today. not sure if the mechanic will decide the 02 sensor needs to be changed since the SES is currently off!

Twice in the last week, upon starting the car 1st thing in the morning, the SES light has come on and the car has gone into "limp home mode". I had the codes read last night and they were both P1684.
Can anyone tell me what that is?

Can't say anything about the codes...but I know that one of my friends used his car for tray sliding without turning DSC off (for those who don't know what this is, you put two McDonald's trays (or equivalent) under your back tires, pull up the E-brake and drive away and turn the wheel.). He threw SEVERAL codes and had SES on and EML on. A simple restart of the car fixed the problems. I know this hasn't fixed the problem for you guys but it just goes to show you that when the car doesn't know what is going on it usually will throw a code. Whether or not the code is valid is a whole nother question.
