Hey there fellow MINI owners, I need help. Earlier this year I had my local MINI dealer install a 15% Reduction Pulley on the S/C.

Just recently I have noticed that under hard acceleration, not starting with a lot of RPMs, its like there's just too much gas for the Valves to handle.

They sound like they are floating and tapping. It sounds like something's rattling in my dash its so bad. Anyway is anyone familiar with this? Does my car need the colder plug, what up?

If you're hearing a tapping noise, you might also want to check your timing chain tensioner. I had a problem with mine that made an aweful noise!!

 

It could be the sound of detonation. What octane gas are you running?

Valve tap usually occurs right after startup on a cold engine.
