mine did the same. Go to the dealer. 100% chance its an error in the wireing.

This may be covered under warranty, assuming you're on a pre-05 so its not the weight sensor (mine came on from a quick u-turn, yes got quite the reaction when I had to explain my cornering habits with that one lol) there have been some issues the recall will keep oyu cover up to 125k or something like that, you should have recieved a letter on it and have the dealer handle it as part of warranty.

The dealer replaced the positive cable from the engine bay to the battery when the airbag light came on last month. Strange mapping of error codes to dash lights.

OH so busy! I have almost had my fill of painting motorcycles.

I also have been busy working on some of the pre mentioned projects. Just not enough hours in the day.

Battery cable , Huh

There’s a wiring harness under the drivers seat that has in the past with many owners that works itself loose and will cause a grounding problem. MINI has a service bulletin out about this.

A couple years ago I received a letter from MINI and a sticker to place in my service manual that states if for any reason my light should come on except for use intended, MINI will fix or replace for free at no charge to me for the life of my MINI.

Not enough hours in the day, I hear that!

The "direct air scoop for the intake" thread will be re-visited soon.
