Incidentally, one of the things that made the classic Mini's so incredible was that they won so many rallies against RWD cars, much to everyone's surprise. So it'll be pretty much out of the question to see a RWD MINI. Maybe, just maybe, someday there will be an AWD option, but that's probably even a longshot...

Getrag did a prototype for the MCS but decided it owuld be cost ineffective, even still I know a bunch here on NAM would pounce on the oppurtunity to go to AWD on a MINI

Speaking of driving wheels, I still am confused on how a horizontally mounted engine is able to power both front wheels, anyone know where I can see a diagram illustrating this? This would help me understand what went wrong when my half shaft failed.

except that in a MINI, the shafts going from the wheels to the engine junk at even, unlike the diagram

Today was the first time driving my MINI in the rain, and I have to say that traction during acceleration is simply hilarious.
