Bonnet Light

Because MINI appears to have included just about every conveninece item imaginable, has anyone thought it odd that there is no under bonnet light? I know we all carry or should carry flashlights, but I think a built-in light should have been included.

Has anyone fitted some sort of after market light. If so, I would be interested in what you got and where you mounted it.

thanks,

YD

YD - had the same thought about it being odd there was no under bonnet light.

Too lazy and cheap to do anything about it though, other than add a flashlight to the track day tool box.

I don't think I've ever seen a car with an under bonnet light from the factory.

I expect my MINI to be aable to make it back to the garage where I've got several lights at my disposal to brighten life up. I do keep multiple flashlights in the car though.

I have had one on most all of my Fords including the 92 F250 I am currently driving. It is surprising that there isnt one on the MINI

Junkyard ford truck. Some vehicles have a retractable wiring spool attached to the removable light fixture. If you need light for working under the hood only those or a flashlight puts the light where you likely need it.

my 94 Neon had one. I would be happy if I could find a battery operated light that would be firmly attached in there some place

Funny this should be mentioned. I was repairing the radiator in our hauler (1990 suburban) and i noticed, for the first time in years, the spool type light. Except out of curiosity when I first got the truck I have never lit it in 6 years. Even when broken down in the dark there is no way to beat a flashlight.

88-97 Silverado trucks have the retractable light. It is also available through a Kubota tractor dealership. The Kubota one comes with the wiring pigtail also.
