I've noticed something strange the last two times filling with gas. Normally I will stop for gas right about when the gage gets empty, so I can get 11 gals or so in it. The last two times it will click off at about 9 gals and I will hear a flapping or tapping noise from under the car (air is the system??) It's basically flap-flap-flap-flap (about as fast as you would read that outloud).

I will then get about another gallon, then flap noise, then again until full. So far I can't seem to find any info on this.

This has happened at the same station, but different pumps.

Yes, as far in as it will go. And I use this station on a regular basis without ever having this before. Next tank I will go to another station and see if it happens there as well.

 

Filled up today at a different staiton and no problems.

 

I once went to a station and from 2 different pumps couldn't get much gas. The attendant said they had air in the lines and the gas was slow. I kindly left and never returned since they don't care to properly maintain their equipment.
