Adjust clutch to be lighter?
Adjust clutch to be lighter?
Hi all.
I just picked up my '06 MCS last night (https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...postcount=1067 for details/pics). It's the first stick I've owned in over ten years and I had a question about the clutch feel. It seems really stiff to me. Does anyone know if this is (easily) adjustable? I'd really like it a lot lighter before I need knee surgery.
Thanks!
David

Hi David & welcome to NAM. As far as I know it's a hydraulic clutch & has no adjustment. If it does someone will tell me I'm wrong.
My 2006's clutch seems pretty light to me. I've got a couple of bum knees & I have no problem with mine. You may want to take it to the dealer & let them check it out. There may be a problem. Also drive another 2006 & see if the clutch is the same as yours.

You'll get used to it, I thought my mcs's was a little heavy for a stock setup.
Now I think its the one of the best feeling clutches I've ever driven.
The longish travel makes the it pretty responsive to input, its not a switch like some other cars (mazdaspeed 6, and evo come to mind).
btw white wheels rock! ....cept for the brake dust :-)

Your clutch isn't broken in yet. Give it at least a month, and in that time the sensitivity of the clutch (and your foot) will adjust.
