OBD II code

Hello,

have two codes on my car since I installed a 59mm throttle body.

P1498 and P1689

My service Manual does not tell me what they are and even the Auto Zone guy could not tell me even after he ran his OBD II check.

Anyone have a clue?

thanks,
Kev

The dealer told me yesterday that my P1498 was from unmetered air, I installed an AGS and the dealer said that the SC tube was not sealing off @ the SC!

maybe OBD-II codes

I googled it and came up with these..

This site lists the BMW OBD-II codes, but your 2 weren't listed:
http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/bmw/index.php

I found them here (though not BMW/MINI specificaly):
http://autorepair.about.com/cs/troub...l_obd_main.htm

P1498 Voltage Problem In EGR Valve Position Sensor Circuit
P1498 High speed Rad Fan Ground CTRL Rly Circuit
P1689 Traction Control Delivered Torque Output Circuit

Hope that helps..

not a MINI code??!!!

I found the codes you listed but they are for GM or ford vehicles. MINI info is not well published.

thanks for all the help, it sound like Kendel72 and Rick-A nailed it.

I installed the M7 throttle body 59mm when i started getting this issue. when i put the stock back on the issue is resolved.

will need to speak with M7 again if my next step does not correct the issue. i purchased the MTH package stage 1 with hopes that this will correct the TB delima.

thanks much gang!

Bingo!! I am going to have to tear my front end off to figure out where on the AGS I am getting the air leak, the tech @ hendrick said it sounded like the back of the supercharger and that the gasket for the SC tube is easy to get a leak on.
