Kudos to the 6th gear'ers
Kudos to the 6th gear'ers
I have been on NAM for a few months and although today I just made it into second gear I really see myself as a newbie.
I wanted to thank all of those out there with THOUSANDS of posts for their invaluable feedback.
HOWEVER, more than that, I want to thank all of you for responding to someone with 50 posts the same way you do to someone with 1000, or more.
It is a great community thanks to you all...you know who you are!

+1. I may be in 6th gear, but there are still people out there that know more about MINIs than I do.
I really appreciate people who reply to my threads.
I just got a PM from a user I didn't recognize, noticed 0 posts in the corner as I was responding. I felt honored to be asked about MINIs by someone who hasn't even posted yet, to me that takes courage. NAM is soo much much than post counts, the last 200 pages of "How many posts?" can atest to that.

I don't think posts numbers are actually that important...
I'd rather take a look at "Join Date" instead... An older member probably have read more thread and replies than a newer member...
But hey, in the end, we are all MINI fanatics who wants to help others... No matter how many posts we have, we share the same passion!!!
Also, as opposed to other forums I know, there's no bashing, no e-wars, no Bullsh*t here on NAM... Only MINI people who repsect others and enjoy a fine car just like a fine bottle of wine lol

6th gear is blasphemy to my 5spd Cooper, so I'm going to start a new screenname and start all over again. Maybe I'll reply to my old screenname replies and go all 'scitzo about it.
Stop it, you will not.

). And this community embraces all. If someone with 50 posts asks a question, I have to keep this broad diversity in mind. They likely know way more than I do. Still, I think it's charming when a new poster asks a tough technical question and others post simply to say "hi"...no tech info, just a welcome!! Maybe OT, but as much as NAM serves as a technical resource, it is even moreso a community.
For me, it is about sharing what I know in hopes that when I ask a question about something, someone will likewise share their knowledge. My most recent experience in receiving feedback was regarding Koni FSDs. My thanks to everyone who has participated in the various threads on the FSDs. I have been driving as much as I could this weekend to experience the breadth of the ride/control improvement the FSDs provide. I am amazed at what Koni has been able to create.
The "How many posts" thread has a much of posts just for increasing post count. Some of us try to keep some content in each though......

Yes, I do. My combined mileage between the 2 MINIs (I traded in the first one for Wanda), is about 75,000 miles since August 28, 2002, when my motoring officially began with MINI #1!
