How to? Strut mount replacement

My passenger upper strut mount is cracked on my '03 MC. The part is $55.00. Has anyone replaced theirs DIY style? Is it a complex replacement?

Its pretty indepth. If you read Randy's how to for the spring install, that might help.

I've done it before, so it cant be that hard!

Did it require any special tools or additional parts other then the mount. Also, do you have a link to Randy's thread?

I can't get my MINI into CarMax until Thursday, that is when they'll tell me if it's covered under their MaxCare extended warranty. I'm going to fight if they say no as I've only put 1k miles on the car since I bought it 2 months ago. It's not exluded from their "not covered items list" and it's vague on the "included covered list".

So, I'm trying to get as much info together as possible incase they refuse to cover the repair. I've got two machanics that live on my street that I am sure can do it if I buy the parts, one is going to look at it tonight.
