Help....clanking noise

I just recently purchased a new mini about 2 weeks ago. Whenever I shift from 1st to 2nd I hear a clank clank noise. Is that normal? I told my boyfriend about it and he said he's heard a few days ago while I was driving off. He said sometimes his G35 will do that and also his brother's M3 does it too. Anyone else seem to have this problem? Should I just ignore it?

You are not alone - I also have the 1st/2nd 'clunk'.
It is normal.
Ignore it.

If I have the radio off & my drivers window down I hear it. Sounds normal to me. If it gets louder I'll be taking it in. My guess is that its no big deal.

if you have the 6speed getrag it it normal.
I asked my dealer and they said it's making that noise because it's passing the reverse shift gear and it's normal...
