MCS vs MC - Does one have more issues than the other??

After reading up on all different forums of people with problems that they encounter with their Minis, it seems that most of them have the S model.
Is the regular Mini less troublesome than the S ??
Is the stick shift more troublesome than the auto??

I think when one steps back and looks I'd say, yes, MCs have had fewer issues. I'd also say that it seems neither auto or manual has more problems, although the odd issues do pop up now and again in both.

The MCS seems to have had a few teething problems at first, but, of course some were rock solid from the start. In any case, the MCS has improved with time, as has the MC.

The Cooper's biggest issue it that it's not as much fun to drive. They haven't found a fix for that yet, well, short of buying a Cooper S.

And don't give me this stick shift rubbish. A Cooper S is a car that should never come with an Auto in my opinion. :impatient

Pish Posh! We've got one of each and they are BOTH fun to drive. My wife's CVT Cooper is a bit more nimble in the corners and my 6 speed MCS is faster.

I love driving both of them although my wife wouldn't enjoy driving a loud harsh riding MCS anywhere near as much as her smooth and silky Cooper.

Yes, they are quite different, but both flavors share the same soul.

The problem with Aussies, (besides being upside down) is that they never really have an opinion. You might change your tune if you had to shift with your right hand! (Ok, maybe not.)

I'm with gokart - seems the problems are fairly evenly distributed. You MAY be more likely to read more S problems as enthusiasts may be more likely to get the S (put away the pitchfork, gokart, I said MAY! )
They are both a great ride.
Now with 'problems' issue decided you're back to the age old $/mpg/hp question. :impatient

The MCS's biggest problem is that it makes it's owners delusional.
