Would adding a high flow cat trip a o2 sensor?

I have a fairly new mini mania header with cat and I am planning on adding a high flow metallic cat (past 400cfm) to it after cutting off the magnaflow cat that came with it.

Will this trip the 2nd o2 sensor? Anyone know the scoop?

magnaflow cat

I did not want to risk it so I am planning replacing it. The ceramic grid has a chip in it so I might as well change it.

I bought a used mini mania header on ebay. I also have an extra OEM
header. The magnaflow cat looks OK but I have not decided which
cat to use. I saw your post on this topic at Michigan MINI. I am in Cleveland.

That is my home town. My parents live in Old Brooklyn north of Parma.

As for the cat. I was either going to try getting a oem header and scab the cat onto the mania header, but I just bought a cat made by Thunderbolt. It flows past 400 cfm=280 hp. I was just wondering if I am duplicating the same code trip with the magnaflow cat.

I talked to KEn from Minimania and he suggested welding on a the oem cat or get an aftermarket OBDII cat in place of the OBDI cat that on there now.

Call Ken at Minimania and let me know what he says.

What magnaflow cat is on your header? Mine is stamped 53005.
Magnaflow states that the 53005 cat is "NOW OBD-II COMPLIANT".

Supposedly magnaflow was using different catalyst in the cat when these mania headers were built. I would call ken at mania for the actual cat spec's
