Clean your intake!

Just cleaned my Mini Mania CAI filter with the K&N re-charging kit...and wow is all I can say. I've only had it for about 6 months, and the filter was almost completely black. When rising it off, the water coming off of it was dirt black. Cleaned, dried, and re-oiled and its back to new! You can actually feel it breathing better...almost as dramatic as going from stock to the CAI itself. Lesson for all...CLEAN YOUR CAI FILTERS! Makes a huge difference, your car will thank you...

Typical cleaning kit is the one from Uni.

Just make sure you get the right kind for your filter a K&N kit won't work right with a foam filter, I use the UNI kit on my ALTA, quick good results, I only manage 3 1/2 without a cleaning.

Trick I found is you can flip it over and get the other side (loosen clamprotate filter 180, and retighten) all dirty then clean it, gives you an extra few weeks before having to get the cleaning done.

Should one also consider cleaning the throttle body as part of this maintenance.
I used to do this on my Grand Cherokee 5.2ltr, Maxima 3.0 ltr and Integra 1.8ltr. Made an improvement with stock filter alone...
