I've seen Randy Webb use brake cleaner on it. The kind that comes in a compressed air can.

I used denatured alcohol on Resipsamcs's car. It's cheap and available at the hardware store. If your IC's still getting a film of oil, I think I'll skip the catch can and clean my IC manually every so often.

Whatever you use, let it dry completely before you re-install it. The last thing you need is to run the risk of hydrolocking the engine.

Fold a latex glove over itself on the end tank opening and secure it with a rubber band. Pour a cup or so of acetone into the other end and cover it the same way, do a little agitating, pour out the solvent and give it a free flow acetone rinse.

I like the latex glove idea to seal the IC!
