Question on replacing the Fan Assembly (radiator)

My 03 MC needs to have the Fan Assembly replaced. This is the fan for the radiator. It has an incredible vibration that can be felt all over the car and make a horrible noise.

I've priced the part for through my dealer and they want $225 just for the fan assembly. I've done some on line pricing and that has brought up a question.

My car has a production date of September 2002. The fan assembly has two different part numbers for the '03s.

#17101475577 for production dates up to 03/2003.
#17117541092 for production dates beyond 03/2003.

The assemblies I have been able to locate on line are for the 03-05 models, which implies the second number.

Can anyone tell me if the newer fan will work with my early production 03 MC? My dealer appeared unwilling to answer that question.

Thanks in advance.

Dale
