Chrono Pack Oil Temp Sender

OK, i need some help.

after my drain plug sending unit took a sh*t, im looking into a different route. where does the chrono pack get its oil temp reading from?

i really doubt that it uses the drain plug sender that the aux gauges use, so that leads me to believe theres another sender somewhere on the car.

can anyone help me?

Rick, I put in a VIN from a MC40 on realoem.com but they only show the oil temp sensor hanging out in mid air. Find someone on here that has a MC40 to look under their car as they all came with a oil temp gauge from the factory. If you want to look use this...TD90363

Oh yeah, i know the MC40's all use the oil pan drain plug sender because they use the aux gauge pack.

The chrono pack that replaces the speedo is already in the car from the factory, so that leads me to believe that theres one somewhere on the motor that they plug into from the factory.

Well I am now asking the same question. I never saw the answer appear here in the follow-up. Where is the oil temp sending unit for the chrono pack oil temp gauge??? Please help!!!

Not to bring an old thread out from the dead - but has the answer to this question been figured out?

I'm looking at adding some aux gauges to my MCS and so far have not been happy with the MINI's lack of places to put sending units.

I am really curious about where the Chrono Pack cars have their sending units...

Does anyone know?

There is no sender that I and several MINI techs can find. Evidently, the temperature is calculated by the computer somehow. I have torn my MINI apart looking for the sensor and Rich at Patrick MINI has done the same. Time to add a real temperature gauge.

I hope we can get an answer to this. First the temp gauge is dumbed down and now the oil temp is calculated? Is everything fake? Soon you'll tell me there is no such thing as a MINI ... that is was just all a wonderfull dream
